Hope is a responsibility which requires action. We can’t just hope this world will change without our active participation.
Hope…to have hope…to live hope…to be hope…to lose hope.
Hope is a BIG word…a BIG idea.
Hope can lift a soul from the depths of despair.
Hope can help one persevere through a crisis.
Hope can calm, soothe and inspire.
But, what exactly is hope and how can we lose it?
The definitions I found in the Webster’s Dictionary included the words to wish, expect, intend or place confidence. To me, contemplating these words and the definitions, hope is an action where we place our power outside ourselves to elicit or expect some type of change.
But, what good is hope if there is no action behind it? It seems to me by definition that to have hope would be more of a sit back and wait or let someone do it for me state of being.
