There are many wonderful options today in the self help and self development industry from which to choose that help facilitate self discovery and healing. Modalities like yoga, acupuncture and Reiki and teachers like Orpah, the Dalai Lama and Wayne Dyer can all facilitate healing and contribute to developing a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world we live in.
One of my favorite modalities is Archetypal Astrology. Having been trained in this modality, I am always amazed by its accuracy and ability to help reveal ones authentic self and the life cycles which are unique to each individual. Helping people realize that they are on the right track despite their challenges is quite fulfilling. Often times, we fight our circumstances creating more friction in our lives and missing the opportunity to realize how challenging times might just be the best thing for our inner development and growth. Having an Archetypal Astrology consultation is like having an antacid thrown on a bad stomach. It neutralizes ones perspective on a situation so that understanding and healing can begin to take place. It might not make everything better, but it creates a new wider perspective giving purpose and meaning to the situation at hand.
What is Archetypal Astrology? Astrology has been used for hundreds of years as a way to map patterns in the world and individuals. Your birth chart is a pie shaped grid consisting of 12 sections called houses which maps out the constellations and planets at the exact moment you were born. The placement of these planets within the constellations and houses and the angles at which they are in relationship all tell the wonderful story and characteristics that are unique to you. Archetypal Astrology combines the work of Carl Jung and the patterns of Archetypes with the Astrological model. Archetypes are personality patterns. For instance, the Teacher, the Athlete, the Writer, the Victim. These are all patterns which are universally recognized but not necessarily applicable to everyone. We are able to recognize each other and even the events in our world through these patterns. When applied to the Astrological model, we can begin to recognize our own patterning and myths that create the foundation and cycles of our lives.
We all experience times of change on a collective and individual level. What is happening in our greater world is also happening in some sort of version in our own individual lives. Giving perspective to these events can help create a better awareness and sense of center from which to navigate change in a co creative way and not suffer from the consequences of our merely reacting to it. Archetypal Astrology is a wonderful tool from which to gain this perspective.
